Happy Anniversay Julia.
At last the big awaited day at the Stamping Ground The 2nd Anniversary of What's on Your Workdesk? Wednesday and yes, after many weeks of deliberation and many hours of making my PiF gift I am ready to post. Well almost, having only finished late last night I must still get it photographed.
I go through spells of using pens or pencils but yesterday I was enjoying using my beautiful Inktense pencils - I just love the intensity of the colours you can get with them. I also came across the mica powders having forgotten them and have been adding them to stamped imaged. The small cigarette tin is one I picked up out of a bin last time I was in France! Hope no one saw me. LOL. Now I just have to decide what to put in it!
I have bought myself the little guillotine just small enough to have on my desk at all times. Up until now I have had an ancient roller one which I bought years ago in Lidl - it's had a hard life and squeaks so loud that it wakes hubby up as he's asleep just the other side of the door - my workspace is what the French would call a mezzine ( 12' x 12' landing ).
The other problem with my old cutter is it leaves one edge rough so I have to turn everything and cut twice to trim off the rough bit. Why do I keep it you ask? Well it's made of metal and has a great scale in mm right on the edge so no mistakes in measuring. What's happening to Old Faithful? well it won't be going in the bin just yet as I still need it to cut larger items.
Have a great day everyone.
Happy crafting

Hi Teresa, Happy WOYWW 2nd Anniversary
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what you’re saying about your trimmer. I have one that I brought in Costco some time back made by an American company but now there are no longer any suppliers in the UK for the blades and cutting strips and the modal is no longer made either so no replacements parts from the USA either. I’ve since brought three new trimmers but none of them are a patch on my old one.
Anyway, your desk is looking great this week and I’m pleased that managed to finish your PIF.
Mine is all done and dusted, so if you let me have your name and address (You can email me Here ) I’ll get it in the post to you today or tomorrow. I hope you’ll like it.
Have a great day and…………
Happy Crafting!

I have some tiny bottles I picked up from a doorway in Dusseldorf so I am with you on the tin. Also with you on the two names because I forgot the asterisk - think there are a few of us now in the asterisk club.
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW. #15
As much as I would love to have little Jack as my grandson I must say he is my daughter's new nephew [on her hubby's side of the family] but he is one I have been crochetting for so I'm really thrilled to show and tell on my blog :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for calling by.
Hugs,

ReplyDeleteGreat desk and good tin look forward to seeing what you do with it ~ Happy WOYWW Anniversary
ReplyDeleteI love the Inktense pencils too, I did see them demonstrated at the Patchings art show some years ago and they had actually coloured a whole quilt with them. I'm not that ambitious but I would love to give fabric a try. Would love to see what you do with the tin.

i keep my pins in a tin like that,
ReplyDeletei think me trying to look french with baton in one hand, and in the other smoking a Gitaine Bleu (pure camel crap), is what stopped me smoking...still trying to be french tho'
also I do not like camels anymore - tis the smell, makes my lungs contract....

ReplyDeleteHugs Marleen :-)
I love my Inktense pencils too, although I have a small selection. Happy WOYWW Birthday to you xx
ReplyDeleteIts a strange thing about cutters ...they become extensions to your hand and it takes so long to be truely comfortable with a new one.
ReplyDeleteLove the look of the desk there! I have wanted to try some Inktense pencils but haven't given in since I already have 2 sets of pencils. Happy #104-2nd Anniversary of WOYWW Thanks for sharing. Vickie #55
